Shipping policy
General Information (for all countries "except the USA")
- We ship your order by Standard Shipping (=Registered airmail) or Express Mail Service (EMS) . You can select the shipping at the checkout.
- We use Japanese postage stamps for your package.
- Registered airmail usually takes 2-4 weeks, but it depends at the import customs at the destination.
- EMS usually takes 7-10 days, but it depends at the import customs at the destination.
- During the holiday season, transit time may be longer than usual.
- All shipment comes with tracking & insurance.
- Shipping is calculated by the weight and you will see the shipping at the checkout. If you add something heavy or large, shipping will become higher. (For example, A4 file folder is not heavy, but it is large and requires the large package and cardboard, so shipping becomes higher.
- Order processing: 1-3 business days (unless otherwise specified.)
- Signature is required upon receipt.
- If you do not receive your package within 4 weeks, please let us know. (If EMS, let us know sooner.)
- If your package is damaged during delivery, please make sure to submit the damage report to your local post office and send us the copy of the documents. Please take photos to prove the damage. Then we will claim the insurance to Japan Post.
Notes for Customers in the United States
- Please note that shipping to the USA is handled via DDP courier services with no additional charges upon delivery. (Temporary service until Japan Post resumes.)
- A 15% import duty applies to all orders shipped to the United States.
The duty is usually added automatically at checkout.
If the system is unable to collect it, we will send a separate invoice for the 15% duty after the order is placed.
- Flat rate shipping
- Order processing: 1–3 business days (unless otherwise specified).
- Delivery time: Usually it takes about 8-10 days, but this may vary depending on processing at U.S. customs. Delays may occur due to high volume or recent regulatory changes.
- During the holiday season, transit times may be longer than usual.
- All shipments come with tracking and insurance.
- If your package is damaged during delivery, please send us photos as proof to claim the insurance.
Notes for Customers in the United Kingdom
- Sweet Birdie Boutique will not collect VAT. Royal mail (or other delivery service) will collect VAT and charges you their handling fee.
Notes for the customers in EU, Northern Island and Norway
- Sorry, we had to stop to ship to EU, Northern Ireland & EU due to the law in EU (GPSR & PPWR)

Shipping rates are subject to change without prior notice.
- Please make sure to enter the correct shipping address when placing your order. You cannot change the shipping address after placing your order.
- Please make sure to check the tracking. If the package is not claimed or rejected at the destination, it will be returned to the sender. We will refund you item cost minus 10% restocking charge. Returned Items need to be in the original condition. Shipping will not be refunded.
